The YMCA Boulton Center for the Performing Arts is home to the Act Out Theatre School. Professionally taught in a supportive, positive, "Y-Friendly" atmosphere, classes are offered year-round for ages 3 to adult .
ACT OUT THEATRE SCHOOL OF THE YMCA
TALENTED MINI TOTS (3-5 years)
· A basic introduction to theatre for ages 3-5
· Helps improve imagination, listening and communication skills by acting out stories, rhymes and more!
· 8 week workshops held at Great South Bay YMCA
TALENTED TOTS (5-7 years)
· Continuing acting skills with theatre games, improvisation, acting out stories and more!
· Students perform in a mini-show at session end.
· 8 week workshops held at Great South Bay YMCA
NEW! LIGHTS CAMERA KIDS (8-11 years and 13+)
· TV and commercial acting with an industry professional
MUSICAL MAJOR MINORS (8-12 years) (Replaces Musical Theater Workshop)
· Mini version of the Musical Theatre Workshop: Students work toward a small cabaret-style performance with professional voice teacher/music arranger.
· 8 week workshops held at the YMCA BOULTON CENTER
ACTING OUT LOUD! (8 - 12 years)
· Learn a mix of acting techniques and how to break-down and perform material. Each student will have the opportunity to work on an original monologue and scene, building confidence and encouraging creativity.

PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP: HOLIDAY and SPRING SHOWS (8-14years)
· “Production with Instruction” includes acting and performing technique as well as full production of a play.

TEEN THEATRE (14 years +)

· Advanced acting techniques and in-depth character development leading to a more challenging final production.
· FALL REGISTRATION ONLY! AUDITIONS HELD EARLY SEPTEMBER.
· PROGRAM RUNS FROM SEPTEMBER UNTIL PERFORMANCE IN EARLY FEBRUARY

TEEN ADVANCED WORKSHOP (14 years + )
· Advanced technique for the studious young actor
· 8 week workshops include:
· Character analysis
· script breakdown / college / audition prep
ADULT ACTING (18+)
· Combines basic acting technique with body/voice-breath work, emotional life exercises, and relaxation/meditation.
· Enhances skills of the intermediate or advanced adult actor. Helps beginning actor discover a new creative life and confidence.
